Is Porn Addiction a Problem in Muslim Countries?

By examining where particular terms are searched most, we can learn a lot about a region. For example,  a search for “Islam” reveals that it is most searched in Indonesia and Malaysia. While a search for “baptist church” reveals most searches are in the US, in English. This is not surprising. But we were surprised when it comes to terms that indicate a potential problem with porn addiction or a pornography habit.

A survey of terms related to pornography use and  porn addiction  reveals that several Muslim countries are at the top of the list for searches performed. For a search of “sex videos”, for example,  Pakistan, Egypt, Morocco, Turkey are in the top 10 countries and Arabic is the number one language. Pakistan has more searches for “internet sex” than any other country.

Religiously observant people are often particularly concerned about the problems presented by easy access to pornography content on the Internet. It is outright against some religious laws, such as Islamic law. A filter like Optenet PC can provide the right solution to observant Muslim men seeking to quit looking at pornography.

Issues about porn within the culture of Islam is indeed a serious matter. For they have different beliefs compared to Christians, and I really do admire how strong their belief are. It won’t be long that such issue within their culture will be resolved.
